Therapy & Support
Individual Therapy for Adults
Therapy leads to personal growth and an enhanced sense of life fulfillment. A path to healing is created by helping each individual to address their concerns in a safe and non-judgmental environment. My therapeutic approach is to use a myriad of approaches including cognitive behavioral techniques, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy strategies, mindfulness as well as a psychodynamic framework to meet the needs of each person.
Couples Therapy
When we feel disconnected to the people that we love in our lives, it can be very painful. Through couples counseling, we can work on ways to feel heard and validated by our partner by increasing healthy communication. Therapy can be a space to find connection and understanding with your partner.
Group Facilitator
Groups are an extremely supportive and transformative therapy for many people. Feeling supported and understood by your peers in an atmosphere of safety can elicit growth and change. I facilitate groups with people struggling with relationship and intimacy issues as well as groups focused on people with body image concerns and chaotic eating patterns. Please reach out if interested to see when the next group will be meeting.
Making Peace With Food Group: This is a weekly group that will address eating issues that frequently come up for people, such as binging, purging, and restricting. The focus of the group will be to develop permanent healthy eating habits and to develop healthier ways to manage difficult thoughts and emotions. The group aims to be a supportive place for those interested in better understanding their relationship with food and their body.
Strengthening Relationships Group: This group focuses on issues that get in the way of closeness and intimacy in interpersonal relationships. We will look at how to better understand and manage the complicated dynamics that inherently arise in relationships (romantic, familial, friendship, professional, etc.), and to process the thoughts and emotions that come up as a result.
Clinical Supervision
For therapists wanting clinical supervision, I can work with you to give you support in your therapeutic work. I have many years of experience as a clinical supervisor and together, we can work on increasing your clinical skills.
I have been a supervisor for individual therapists and also run group supervisions to support therapists in their work with people struggling with eating disorders. If you are a therapist and would like to expand your practice to help people with chaotic eating patterns, I can be a helpful resource to gain support in your work.
Workshops & Professional Development
As an eating disorder specialist at Yale University’s Mental Health and Counseling, I have given talks and trainings to both students and medical staff to increase their knowledge on eating disorders. If you are interested in training your staff or a school wanting to educate students on eating disorders, please reach out for more information.
